Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-10-24
Zuse (zuse.chat) is a free chat service run by AstroPanda Games (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Zuse you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use Zuse.
1. Who may use Zuse
You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires a higher age to use an online service on your own. If we learn that someone is under the minimum age we will close their account. You may not use Zuse if you have been banned from it and have not been told you may return.
2. Your account
- Give accurate sign-in details and keep your login secure. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- An account is for one person. If you run bots, they have their own bot accounts (see section 7).
- Do not run software on a person’s account (often called self-botting): no scripts, modified clients or bots signed in as a person to send messages, stay connected, or earn XP or levels. Anything automated belongs on a bot account.
- Do not pretend to be someone else, a moderator, or Zuse itself. Some names are reserved, and we may change or remove a username or profile that breaks these rules.
3. Rules
Treat people decently. Do not use Zuse to:
- harass, threaten, bully or stalk anyone, or to post hateful content aimed at people for who they are;
- share sexual content involving minors (we have zero tolerance and will report it), or other illegal content;
- post other people’s private information (“doxxing”), or content you have no right to share;
- spam, flood channels, advertise, or run scams, phishing or malware;
- dodge a ban, mute or limit (for example with another account), or probe, overload or break the service, or access it by any means other than the website and the documented bot API;
- earn XP, levels or rewards by automation, or help someone else do so (XP gained that way may be removed);
- copy or resell the service, or collect other people’s data in bulk.
We may update these rules as the service grows. Channel owners may add reasonable rules of their own for their channels.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store it, show it to the people it is meant for, and keep copies in backups, as needed to run Zuse. That includes showing recent messages to people who join a channel. Do not post anything you do not have the right to post.
Your profile picture comes from your Google or Discord account or from a Gravatar you choose, and other users can see it. It has to follow the rules above, and we may stop showing or remove a picture that does not.
Anything you post in a channel can be seen, copied and shared by the people there, and we cannot control what they do with it. Private channels are limited to their members, but they are not encrypted: the people who run Zuse can access stored messages when needed to run the service, enforce these terms or follow the law.
5. Moderation
Channel owners and operators (“ops”) can mute, kick and ban people in their channels, and decide who may speak there. Zuse staff can act in any channel, and can watch a channel without appearing in it. We may remove content and warn, restrict, suspend or close accounts, with or without notice, for breaking these terms, to keep people safe, or where the law requires. You can report someone with the /report command; we review reports but cannot promise a particular outcome or timeline. If you think we got something wrong, write to contact@zuse.chat.
6. Free service, no promises
Zuse is a free, non-commercial project. There are no ads and we do not sell your data. It is provided “as is”: it may be unavailable, change, or end, and messages and accounts may be lost despite our backups. Do not rely on it for anything critical or urgent.
7. Bots and developers
- Bots are accounts run by software. They are labelled as bots and belong to a person, who is responsible for what the bot does.
- Keep bot tokens secret. Anyone with a token can act as the bot. If a token leaks, revoke it.
- Bots must follow the rules in section 3 and the rate limits, must not spam, harass or collect data in bulk, and should say what they are. We may limit, revoke or remove bots and tokens at any time.
- Bots do not earn XP. A bot must not reply to messages from other bots, so that two bots cannot set each other off in a loop (the example bots in the developer docs already ignore bot messages).
- We will try to give notice before breaking changes to the bot API, but we cannot promise it will never change.
8. Ending your use
You can stop using Zuse at any time, and you can delete your account yourself in Settings (or email contact@zuse.chat). The Privacy Policy explains what is removed. We may suspend or close your account as described in section 5. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as 4, 9 and 10) do so after your account ends.
9. Disclaimers and limits of liability
To the extent the law allows, we give no warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, or what other users do or say. Our total liability to you for anything connected to Zuse will not exceed US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell you on the site. If you keep using Zuse after a change, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the operator is based, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
12. Contact
